"dePKG" PS3 Firmware Package Decrypter, Geohot's new App released for PS3 Devs [Download Link][Linux Only]

GeoHot is back and this time he is helping the PS3 Jailbreak. GeoHot has released a very useful linux based PS3 firmware package decrypter called dePKG that would allow developers to take a look at files such as CORE_OS_PACKAGE.pkg inside Sony’s official firmware (PS3UPDAT.PUP) files right from their PCs. dePKG is ready to be compiled and includes all the required decryption keys.

According to PSGroove:

The famous Geohot resurfaced today, to release a useful app called dePKG. The app is very useful for devs, that are planning to look into Sony’s official firmware files. dePKG is a linux app, that will decrypt PKG files, that are within PS3UPDAT.PUP files (not to be confused with PSN PKG files).
This will allow devs to take a look at files such as CORE_OS_PACKAGE.pkg, from the convenience of their PC. Previously, the only way to take a look at these files, was via graf_chokolo’s method, which utilized the PS3. Geohot’s app is ready to be compiled and includes the necessary decryption keys.

Redsn0w 0.9.7b4 (Beta 4) Released, Including built-in usbmuxd [Download]

Another Beta version of Redsn0w has been released by iPhone Dev-Team. We have seen a 3 beta versions of Redsn0w 0.9.7 which were released For Untethered Jailbreak of iOS 4.2.1 but unfortunately there were bugs in each of these Betas, and also after Jailbreak makes our iPhone more Buggy. So to fix all these Bugs iPhone Dev-Team has again released another Beta i.e Redsn0w 0.9.7b4 for Mac to fix these Bugs. It is said to be more Stable than older Versions and have also fixed Previous Bugs.
Another new thing about this Redsn0w 0.9.7b4 is that it already have an Usbmuxd built in the Tool, So there's no need to do it manually while Jailbreaking the device. It will save your time Jailbreak your Device.

iPhone Dev Team Official BLog:

The fourth beta is now available (testers ONLY please!). Starting with this version, redsn0w no longer requires you to install and run a separate program for the usbmux (this was a non-trivial procedure for many).   It’s okay to keep that program running if you normally use it for ssh anyway.  We also think we’ve fixed a race condition in the GUI that was causing redsn0w to crash during the “Preparing JB Monte Files” step. Nothing at all has changed on the iPhone side (where the main issues are still just Bluetooth and Skype).
Thanks to everyone who’s helped us test so far!  We believe this is the last big code change.  If beta4 goes smoothly, we can move on to opening up to Windows testers, the remaining devices, and fixing the Bluetooth and Skype issues.

"Facebook" Beats "Google" as the most Visited Website in 2010

The Arrival of Facebook in the World of Internet and Social websites have changed everything, Facebook has created a History of getting that much traffic to their website in Few years, And becoming the Most Visited Website in 2010. Facebook was not only the most searched item of the year, but it passed Google as America’s most-visited website in 2010, according to a new report from Experian Hitwise.



The combination of Google properties accounted for 9.85 percent of all U.S. visits. Facebook properties accounted for 8.93 percent, and Yahoo! properties accounted for 8.12 percent. The top 10 Websites accounted for 33 percent of all U.S. visits between January and November 2010, an increase of 12 percent versus 2009.
More interesting though is Facebook’s ascension to #1 on Hitwise’s list of most-visited websites. The social network accounted for 8.93% of all U.S. visits in 2010 (January-November), beating Google (7.19%), Yahoo Mail (3.52%), Yahoo (3.30%) and YouTube (2.65%). However, Facebook didn’t beat the traffic garnered by all of Google’s properties combined (9.85%).

Windows Phone 7 MarketPlace DRM Cracked - Allowing to get Free Paid Apps From Market Place [Video]

The Windows Phone 7 Market Place has been cracked now by the team of Hacker and Developers called as "Devious devs". There crack allows you to get free installation of paid apps. THey were workng on this for a long time and now have been succeeded in Punching a hole in Microsoft's WP7 marketplace DRM(Digital Rights Management).






The technique is currently just in proof of concept form, So it might take time for a Public Release, If it's been released to Public, then this would called as Piracy. According WP Central:
Disclosure: Well before the publication of this article, WPCentral contacted Microsoft's Brandon Watson directly about the breach, and we are working with Microsoft to address this latest security development. Microsoft may be providing a statement to us addressing this issue, which we will of course post in its entirety.
Since then, a "white hat" developer has provided WPCentral with a proof-of-concept program that can successfully pull any application from the Marketplace, remove the security and deploy to an unlocked Windows Phone with literally a push of a button. Alternatively, you could just saved the cracked XAP file to your hard drive. Neither the app nor the methodology is public, and it will NOT be released (please don't ask). It is important to note that this was all done within six hours by one developer.

Guide:How To Restore your iPhone If it Stucks On Apple Logo

If you have a jailbroken or unlocked iPhone, you might face this issue sometime in future. I am not saying that you will face this ‘iPhone Stuck On Apple Logo’ bug, but if you ever face it, dont panic. This iPhone getting stuck on reboot or hanging issue on Apple logo happens when you are trying to jailbreak your iPhone or after installing a jailbroken app. If this happens, you will need to put your iPhone in DFU(Device Firmware Update mode) mode which will restore your iPhone completely. Since you wont have any other option, you will have to go for this option or else your iPhone will remain in this bricked condition for ever.
This is not specific to 4.2.1 jailbreak or iOS 4.1 jailbreak using Limera1n or Greenpois0n, but a common problem that is faced after a reboot following a jailbreak or Installing a Cydua app.


How to Fix the Problem:


1- Connect your device to your PC or Mac, with the latest version of iTunes installed on it.


2- Put your iPhone or iPod Touch in DFU Mode:
A. HOLD down both POWER and HOME buttons for 10 seconds.
B. Next release POWER button, but keep holding the HOME button till you see the ‘Connect to iTunes’ screen


3- iTunes will now give the message ‘iTunes has detected an iPhone in Recovery mode. You must restore this iPhone before it can be used with iTunes.’ Click OK.


4- Next click SHIFT + Restore button and when iTunes prompts you to select a firmware, browse and choose your current IPSW.


5- Let iTunes restore your device to factory settings. Later it will ask you to Choose a backup from which to restore all your settings, apps, and other data.


DONE!

DFU Mode in iPod Nano 6G Discovered - It might Now Run Custom Firmwares and Apps [Video]

Yesterday, An reknown Hacker James Whelton has used his Skills to Hack the Sixth Generation iPod Nano. And Amazingly today another Hacker Steven Troughton-Smith has Discovered DFU Mode in iPod Nano and this DFU Mode is the Same as we find iPhone And iPod Touch.

It's Very Simple to get into DFU Mode in iPod Nano 6G, Just hold down the restart buttons until you get a black screen and iTunes sees the device.
Afterwards, modified iRecovery to work with the iPod nano (had to add its DFU/Recovery USB ID) and allow it send files, and tested with some files I had extracted from the iPod nano 6G firmware (using the extract2g tool somewhere from http://www.freemyipod.org/ ).
disk.fw and osos.fw work (one boots disk mode, the other boots to a homescreen). The other files make the nano boot to a white screen, but go no further.
So, basically, it seems we can send encrypted firmware files to the iPod, and have them execute, similar to what is used to jailbreak the iPhone. If the nano rejects the file (i.e. unsigned, invalid), it reboots.
While this by itself isn’t that cool, hopefully the info will inspire someone else to finally hack this thing and give us custom ‘apps’.

Now this new Discovery in iPod Nano may Bring many new possibilities to it such as installing custom firmware files and apps.
But iPod Nano 6G is still not Jailbroken 'cause Hackers haven't got access to it's Root. Maybe in near Future we see tthe iPod Nano Jailbroken by Dev-Team, If they find an exploit in the OS before the jailbreak, In order to Install Custom Firmware Files and Apps!!
