Yesterday we post a Video on the Nokia Microsoft Partnership. When Nokia CEO Stephen Elop and Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer jointly announce strategic partnership. Now Adrian Boioglu, a blogger from Romanian has noticed the background sound loop in that Nokia-Microsoft Partnership video. He noticed Nokia not only used Apple iMovie for editing that video but also uses iMovie royalty free, sound loop included with the software. Apple don’t allow to use their third party audio loop content commercially.
Check out both movies. Just watch the first 10 seconds or so and listen to the background music (song is Pendulum):
This sound loop is only for non-commercial use, According to Apple Copyrights:
“You may use the Apple and third party audio loop content (”Audio Content”), contained in or otherwise included with the Apple Software, on a royalty-free basis, to create your own original soundtracks for your video and audio projects. You may broadcast and/or distribute your own soundtracks that were created using the Audio Content, however, individual audio loops may not be commercially or otherwise distributed on a standalone basis, nor may they be repackaged in whole or in part as audio samples, sound effects or music beds.”
Let’s see if Apple will sue Nokia for using their non-commercial Sound loop in their Video.
