Guide: How to Save SHSH Blobs Using iFaith on iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad [Download]

There were rumors that IH8Sn0w(Developer and Hacker) is going to release something new, which he has been working for a long time. and finally, IH8Sn0w has revealed his new Project called the iFaith. This is an Software for your Windows and Mac which allows you to save SHSH Blobs for Older Firmwares of iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad.


So now you'd be wondering what is the Difference between iFaith and TinyUmbrella. So TinyUmbrella only allows you to save SHSH blobs which Apple is signing once apple has stop signing those Blobs you wont be able to save them using TinyUmbrella. But, If you're using iFaith, you would be able to Save SHSH Blobs for the particular iOS which Apple has already stop signing. For example if your device is on 4.0 and you want the blobs, you can use this program to rip, or dump the blobs from the device.

Guide: How to Save SHSH blobs for Older Firmwares using iFaith


First Download iFaith For Windows.


Step 2: Open iFaith and Click Dump SHSH Blobs and then Click Proceed and Click Let’s Go afterwards.







Step 3: Follow the DFU Instructions to place your device in DFU Mode.
1. Hold Power and Home buttons for 10 seconds
2. Now release the Power button but continue holding the Home button for 10 more seconds
3. You device should now be in DFU mode

Step 4: Once the DFU mode on the device is detected, iFaith will automatically start the process of dumping SHSH blob. This may take a while.








Step 5: When completed, iFaith will ask you where to locally save the SHSH.

Untethered Jailbreak for iOS 4.2.1 will not be completed before Chrstmas

On his twitter account Comex has just posted that he may not be able to release the untethered jailbreak for iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS New bootrom and iPod Touch 4G by Christmas.It was initially expected that the untethered iOS 4.2.1 jailbreak might be released somewhere around the Christmas Eve. But if this tweet by Comex is anything to go by, we may not see an untethered jailbreak for iOS 4.2.1 by this Christmas.



Comex: I think I’m going to miss my Christmas deadline…
It’s still unclear whether an untethered version is still going to require saved SHSH blobs. As Apple isn’t signing 4.1 anymore, we’ll hope for those users on stock 4.2.1 you won’t need them.
Though the iPhone Dev Team is also working on Plan B untethered jailbreak, but Comex hack is more extensible and should not require access to the developer only 4.2b3 IPSW.

Step 1: iSHSHit is a free app available from the BigBoss repo on Cydia. To start with, launch Cydia on your iPhone or iPad and download and install this application from Cydia.


Step 2: Launch the iSHSHit app from the iPhone Springboard. The application screen will look something like this



Step 3: You will find a 'Save' button on the top right-hand corner of the page. Tapping on this button will initiate the process to save the SHSH blob directly on to the Cydia servers.


Step 4: The app will notify you once the backup process is complete.



Step 5:  Tap on the 'Send All' button to send a copy of the SHSH blob to your email ID. Type the email message and tap on the 'Send' button at the top of the page. The backup process is complete.
