Download new Redsn0w 0.9.9b1 for Windows and Mac with loads of new features

    As it was previously reported that iPhone Dev team will release an updated version of Redsn0w which will be an massive update and will bring tons of new features, and finally MuscleNerd has released the new redsn0w 0.9.9b1. This new version of redsn0w is easy to use and have loads of new features, so jailbreak users won't be having an issue using this new version of Redsn0w.


    Here's the complete changelog:


    • uses DFU mode to try to automatically determine which device and FW you have
    • fetches pieces of public IPSWs from Apple (once).  Non-public IPSWs must be provided manually (once).  It then caches those pieces for future use.
    • “Just boot” is a tethered boot.  Uses whatever “Preferences” you’ve set for boot logo and kernel boot-args
    • “Pwned DFU” puts your device in a pwned DFU state for some of the iTunes stuff detailed below
    • “Recovery fix” gets past 1015 types of errors (when baseband portion of restore fails).  Should work on iOS5 beta too
    • “Select IPSW” is for picking non-public IPSWs, or overriding auto-detection
    • “SHSH blobs” has a bunch of options…
    • “Fetch” – fetch current PARTIAL blobs on device.  Should complete in under 10 or 15 seconds.  Puts the set of PARTIAL of blobs on your computer as a plist.  Checks if Cydia already has a full set for this device and build.  If not, it submits this PARTIAL set and returns Cydia’s acknowledgement or rejection
    • “Verify”  – cryptographically verifies existing blob files from either redsn0w, TinyUmbrella, or Cydia server.  You can select a whole bunch of blobs to verify at once if you want (like the TinyUmbrella directory)
    • “Submit”  – both verifies and submits one or more blob files to Cydia.  This lets you copy your entire TinyUmbrella cache of blobs up to the Cydia server
    • “Query” - queries the Cydia server for all available FULL or PARTIAL blobs for a given set of ECIDs
    • “Stitch” – stitches either FULL or PARTIAL blobs to a STOCK or CUSTOM IPSW

    1. FULL blobs stitched to a STOCK IPSW gives you a completely self-contained signed IPSW that iTunes will accept without any tricks (no need to go into pwned DFU mode, no need to start TinyUmbrella TSS server, no need to redirect to Cydia server for blobs)
    1. PARTIAL blobs stitched to any IPSW requires you to go into pwned DFU mode before running iTunes.  No need to start TU or use Cydia though.
    1. Stitching either FULL or PARTIAL blobs to a CUSTOM IPSW also requires a pwned DFU start before iTunes restores.  No need to start TU or use Cydia though.
    1. Stitching is NOT yet supported on iPhones!  
      2. Need to work out the baseband part of the restore process.
    1. Will eventually support fetching the blobs directly from Cydia instead of a file on your computer

Jailbreakme Developer "Comex" to also start working with Apple [Report]

    It's been reported that iOS Hacker and Developer known as "Comex" will be soon joining Apple as an Intern. As you might have know that comex found the PDF Exploit found in Safari browser and developed "Jailbreakme" to jailbreak iOS devices and it was the first one to Jailbreak iPad 2.
    Recently, He stated in an tweet that:

    So, the week after next I will be starting an internship with Apple.
    He doesn't state exactly what he will be doing at Apple but Comex responded to a number of tweets about his new gig with another Twitter message, saying, " Thanks for the congratulations everyone; I was expecting a more negative response :)."


    Nicholas Allegra a.k.a Comex has created an jailbreak tool which is officially approved by Apple means that it is used to hack iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad. So now we're not sure if Allegra will continue to working on this while he works at Apple.

    There are lots of Hackers now being hired by official companies, as recently it was reported that Steve Kondik, who created the popular custom ROM -- CyanogenMod has been hired by Samsung Mobile as a software engineer.

    Apple recently this week released another Beta of iOS 5 which brings some previous Bugs fixes and performance improvements. and now Hacker (IH8Sn0w) has released another beta for his jailbreak tool known as Sn0wbreeze to tethered Jailbreak iOS 5 b6 on iPhone 4, 3GS, iPod touch 4G, 3G and iPad 2, 1.

    NOTE: This is a tethered Jailbreak for all iOS devices except iPad 2. So don’t try Jailbreaking your iPad 2 with Sn0wbreeze as it won’t work. The only device which is untethered Jailbreak for now using Sn0wbreeze is iPhone 3GS old bootrom devices.
    Other than just Jailbreaking your device Sn0wbreeze can also preserves the baseband (and hacktivate) for iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS users who rely on Ultrasn0w or Gevey SIM unlock.

Guide: How to tethered Jailbreak iOS 4.3.5 on iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad using Redsn0w [How To] [Download]

    As Apple has released the new iOS 4.3.5, which contain fix for some previous Vulnerabilities. It has just been tweeted and confirmed by iPhone Dev Team member MuscluNerd that the new iOS 4.3.5 can be jailbroken on all devices except the iPad 2 just by pointing the tool at the 4.3.4 IPSW.




    @zaone @m1ckey29 ah ok thanks for checking! So those who really do want tethered 4.3.5 can use redsn0w pointed at 4.3.4 (except iPad2)
    Note that since Apple patched comex’s exploit in iOS 4.3.4, this jailbreak will be tethered. It’s still recommended to stick with iOS 4.3.3 for an untethered jailbreak.


    Guide: How to Tethered Jailbreak iOS 4.3.5 on iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad


    Note: Those relying on a carrier unlock must stay away from Redsn0w.


    First of All Downlaod the Following:


    iOS 4.3.5 and iOS 4.3.4 for iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad. [Download link]
    Download Redsn0w 0.9.8b4 for Windows
    Download Redsn0w 0.9.8b4 for Mac
    Download iTunes 10.4 Mac and Windows


    Now lets start the Guide,


    Step 1: So first of all Start Redsn0w, browse for the iOS 4.3.4 firmware file (NOT the 4.3.5) that you downloaded in above and point it towards Redsn0w.


    Step 2: Once Redsn0w is done recognizing the firmware file, click Next, and then check the “Install Cydia” box and leave other options as it is for now. Once done, click Next.


    Step 3: Now just follow Redsn0w, it will instruct you to power down your device and plug it in to your computer. Follow the onscreen instructions and then click Next to continue.


    Step 4:  RedSn0w will now guide you on how to put your device in DFU mode. follow the steps carefully till your device get’s into DFU mode.Follow the simple steps to put your Device into DFU Mode:
    • First of all,Press and Hold the sleep button for 2 seconds.
    • While holding the sleepbutton,Press the Home button for 10 seconds.
    • Now release the sleep button but continue Holding the home button for about 15 seconds. 
    Step 5: One in DFU mode your iPhone will restart, Now, just wait while Redsn0w gets installed and jailbreaks your device. Once finished your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch will restart automatically.


    TrobleShooting:

    Any Windows users seeing “Waiting for reboot” for too long (more than 20 seconds or so), please try “shaking” the JB process by unplugging then replugging your USB cable (while letting redsn0w continue to run). Also, try using a USB port “closer” to your computer (as opposed to on your monitor or behind another hub).

How to Fix Verizon iPhone which Stuck at Apple Logo After using Jailbreakme

    So there are lots of CDMA iPhone users (Verizon iPhone) who have Jailbroken their devices using the Comex's latest exploit which is available at Jailbreakme.com, So those who have Jailbroken their Verizon iPhone has faced some problems afterwards that is their iPhone Stuck at Apple Logo. So to fix that problem Comex has found out a solution for it:



    So according to him:
    A bug in JailbreakMe 3.0 could cause iPhone 4 (CDMA, i.e. Verizon) to get stuck at the Apple logo and be unable to boot. If you are in this situation, there are two options:
    1. Hold down the home and power buttons until you see "Connect to iTunes", then use iTunes to restore to the latest firmware. This will lose data stored on the phone.
    1. Apply a quasi-experimental fix using redsn0w. Download:
    • redsn0w 0.9.6rc19: Windows / Mac (do not use an earlier version)
    • IPSW for your firmware version, if you don't have it: 4.2.6 / 4.2.7 / 4.2.8
    1. Open redsn0w, select your IPSW, choose "Install custom bundle", and select the fix bundle. Then follow the directions. If it works correctly, after installation your phone will boot normally.
    There is a separate bug where choosing "Re-jailbreak" would cause a device to be unable to boot. If you have this issue and don't want to restore, contact me.
    So following these steps will definitely fix your Verizon iPhone. Other than that Comex has also confirmed on his twitter account that Jailbreakme is now updated and might not give these Bugs if you use it for Jailbreak.

Recently, We reported that Apple has blocked the way to unlock your iPhone using Gevey Sim Method on iOS 5 beta 2. And now once again, this tweet of MuscleNerd confirms that Apple has also blocked the way to restore your iDevice using SHSH Blobs.


    Uh oh...the days of restoring with saved SHSH blobs are nearing an end :( Apple is getting much smarter with APTicket.
    But users who have already saved SHSH blobs have the ability to restore, But after upgrading to iOS 5 users will loose ability to Save SHSH Blobs and restore again. So users who rely on Jailbreaking should not update their device to iOS 5.

    iPhone Dev Team has now finally released Redsn0w to tethered Jailbreak iOS 5 on iPhone ,iPod Touch and iPad. The recent version was only for Mac and now this time the Windows version has also been released, so you now also Jailbreak on Windows. Redsn0w 0.9.8b1 for Windows can jailbreak iOS 5 Beta on iPhone 4, 3GS, iPod Touch 4G, 3G & iPad 1. 
    For Your Information: Unlockers especially should stay away from this because restoring to iOS 5.0 will upgrade your baseband (unless you use Sn0wBreeze) and UltraSn0w has not been updated for 5.0 yet.

    Since Apple now provides Windows iTunes 10.5 for iOS5 and iCloud developers, it’s no longer the case that only Mac owners can legitimately activate their devices.  We now provide a Windows version of redsn0w for those developers (only!).
    Including that the Developer of Sn0wbreeze i.e IH8Sn0w has also released updated version of Sn0wbreeze to tethered Jailbreak iOS 5 on Windows. So users have now choice either to use Sn0wbreeze or Reddsn0w to Jailbreak iOS 5.

Jailbreakme 3.0 coming with PDF Exploit to Jailbreak iOS 5 or iPad 2?

    It has just been tweeted by iPhone Dev Team member named as Comex. That he have released some kind of trailer at Jailbreakme.com but when we follow the Link, We saw the PDF picture. It is Probably hinting toward the PDF Exploit which was in Past released to Jailbreak. Here's a little History about Jailbreak me:
    JailbreakMe 2.0 ('Star') is a jailbreak for Apple's iOS mobile operating system. The original version of "jailbreakme.com" was a jailbreak for iPhone and iPod touch firmware 1.1.1. The second version was released on August 1, 2010. JailbreakMe allows users to install software that is not approved by Apple on their iPod Touch (except for the original iPod touch), iPhone (except for the original iPhone) and iPad.

    So PDF Exploit was used in Jailbreakme v1.0 to Jailbreak iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad. And Now Once again Comex has mentioned PDF so this might be the Hint toward Jailbreakme 3.0 wich would probably Jailbreak iPad 2 or iOS 5. we haven't yet got any Confirmation yet, but will definitely Update soon as we get more.

    An Italian Developer has made it Possible now (qwertyoruiop), He has created the first working widget for iOS 5 notification center. In Past he have also developed some Interesting Tweaks for Jailbroken iPhone. This tweak is called as UIsettings iOS 5.

    Natively, UISettings iOS-5 will be inserted as the first widgets immediately before the notification of applications and allow you to adjust or activate various functionsof the iPhone, ie: brightness, volume, power, reboot, and respring Safe Mode. In this way, without having to access the settings, you can at any time to handle these aspects of your terminal, simply by recalling in Central Notifications iOS 5 with an appropriate gesture.

    iPhone Dev Team has now finally released an updated version for Redsn0w to tethered Jailbreak iOS 5 Beta on iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad.  We've recently reported that Hackers have successfully got Jailbreak of iOS 5 Beta the day after it's release. And now the good news is that they have Patched it into the Latest redsn0w and released it for Public.

    According to iPhone Dev Team:
    WWDC 2011 is winding down to a close, and developers of jailbroken apps for Cydia are probably itching to get started on all the iOS 5 goodness.  It seems like a good time to release the tethered redsn0w jailbreak for iOS 5. The following devices are supported:
    • iPod touch 3G
    • iPod touch 4G
    • iPad 1
    • iPhone3GS
    • iPhone4 (GSM)
    • iPhone4 (CDMA)
    UNLOCKERS AND THOSE PRESERVING THEIR UNLOCKABLE BASEBANDS SHOULD STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS! You will very likely lose your unlockable baseband if you try to install iOS 5.
    THIS JAILBREAK IS INTENDED ONLY FOR DEVELOPERS OF JAILBROKEN APPS! There are just too many broken components (Apple’s official apps, 3rd-party App Store apps, Cydia apps, MobileSubstrate apps, etc) for this to be useful to anyone but those truly looking to fix bugs in their iOS 5 jailbroken apps.  (Seriously!)

    The way redsn0w works, you will very likely be able to use this on upcoming iOS5 betas, just by continuing to point redsn0w at the 5.0b1 IPSW.  So keep that IPSW handy!

Sn0wbreeze Updated to v2.7.1 To Fix Vibration Issue on iPhone, Others Bugs also Fixed [Download]

    Recently Today iPhone Dev Team released updated version for Redsn0w and Pwnage Tool to Fix some Bugs including the Side Switch Vibration Issue on iPhone. So if you haven't yet downlaoded Updated Redsn0w or Pwnage Tool you can get them here. Now Sn0wbreeze has also been updated to version 2.7.1 to fix the Same Issue. You can see the Downlaod link for Sn0wbreeze below.
    This Bugs is only found in iOS 4.3.3, so users on others firmware should not have to worry.


    How to Jailbreak with Sn0wbreeze Guide:

    You can follow our Guide here to Untethered Jailbreak your iDevice on iOS 4.3.3. The guide we posted is same like before, Follow all the steps except the iBooty Step(Because it's for tethered Jailbreak).
    Error Troubleshooting: 
    IF YOU GET ERROR 3194+

    * Close down any TinyUmbrella’s.
    * Remove Cydia’s SHSH caching server from your hosts
    (C:\WINDOWS\system32\driver\etc\hosts)
    * Reboot.

    For Unlockers: Sn0wbreeze 2.7.1 only Jailbreak and Preserve baseband for iOS 4.3.3, If you have older baseband (01.59.00 / 04.26.08 / 05.11.07 / 05.12.01 / 05.13.04 / 06.15.00) then you can unlock iPhone 4/3GS.

Download Updated Redsn0w 0.9.6 RC16 and Sn0wbreeze 4.3.3.1 to Fix Bugs and Side Switch Vibration Issue on iPhone 4/ iPhone 3GS [How to]

    iPhone Dev Team has now Updated their Jailbreak tools that is redsn0w has now been updated to RC16 and Pwnage Tool has also been updated to v4.3.3.1. The reason for which they have updated these Jailbreak tools, Is because when your iPhone 4 or iPhone 3GS was jailbroken with Previous Version, It created an side switch vibration issue (only for 4.3.3). By the release of this new Version this Bug has been fixed and other than that it also fixes verbose booting for 3GS, and fixed problem for uploading ramdisk in Windows 7.

    Note: There is still no Jailbreak for iPad 2.
    According to iPhone Dev Team:
    PwnageTool and redsn0w have been updated to include a fix for the iPhone3GS/i4 side switch vibration issue (only for 4.3.3!). Thanks to @i0n1c for tracking this down (even though he doesn’t even have an iPhone!).

    If you’re already jailbroken at 4.3.3 (by either redsn0w or custom IPSW), you can install this fix simply by running redsn0w rc16 over your existing jailbreak. Just uncheck the “Install Cydia” option and check any other options you want. The fix will be installed no matter what you’ve selected. This is safe for even ultrasn0w unlockers to do (because redsn0w itself won’t update your baseband…only an iTunes stock IPSW update/restore will do that).

    redsn0w rc16 has a few more improvements: Windows 7 and Vista users should no longer need to set their CPU affinity…just run redsn0w as Administrator in XP compatiblity mode. Also, the “verbose boot” option for old-bootrom iPhone 3GS has been fixed for 4.3.3 (remember: old-bootrom 3GS users can even have custom bootlogos that show right at power-up). Enjoy!
