iOS 5 Beta 2 will Block you from Unlocking your iPhone using Gevey Sim [Warning]

It has just been confirmed by the iPhone Dev Team hacker MuscleNerd that the newly released iOS 5 Beta 2 will Block all the possible ways to unlock your iPhone including the Gevey Sim Method. So this simply means that iOS 5 will not allow users to unlock the iPhone. So users who rely on Gevey Sim Method and doesn't want to loose the Unlock, they should not update to iOS 5 till now. For more we'll update soon.







It is surprising that Apple has locked the SIM Gevey exploits long before the official release of iPhone OS 5 (perhaps pushed by someone).
It is still not confirmed whether the final version of iOS 5 would be unlockable or not. And if this is true then it would be impossible to Unlock the iPhone, unless the NCK Unlock is released. 
Gevey Sim method can unlock your iPhone on any baseband (01.59.00, 02.10.04, 03.10.01, 04.10.01, 04.11.04.). But iOS 5 will then stop it from unlocking these basebands.


Recently an new Gevey Sim was launched called Gevey Sim Ultra which was used to Unlock iPhone 4 without dialling  the emergency number (112), confirmation has been came that it also not working on iOS 5 Beta 2.


So for those Unlock users, If they want to remain in safe zone then do not Update your iPhone to iOS 5. There's no news whether Hackers would be able to unlock the iPhone, but it depends on how hard they work on it. Maybe the unlock is possible, and may be the hacker community will come with other exploits to unlock iPhone running iOS 5.

Step 1: First of all you have to, Update and restore your iPhone firmware to iOS 4.3.1 using iTunes. Here's how to:
Open "iTunes" and select your iPhone in sidebar, Windows users press “shift” and restore and browse the  Custom Firmware.
[Or] *You can skip this step if you’re already running iOS 4.3.1/tethered jailbroken iOS 4.3.1.


Step 2: Now, Launch Redsn0w 0.9.6 RC9 and Browse for iOS 4.3.1 Fimrware IPSW File.





Step 3: Now check Cydia and click next.

This Jailbreak is not for iPad 2 users as it Pwnage tool won't be able to jailbreak your device at the moment, iPad 2 users have to wait some time for the exploit to untethered jailbreak iPad 2.


Note: With this you can also retain Baseband(Older Firmware) so that you can unlock your iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS with UltraSn0w

Guide: How to Untethered Jailbreak iPhone 4, 3GS, iPod touch 4G, 3G, iPad and Apple TV 2G (FW 4.3) on iOS 4.3 and iOS 4.3.1 with Pwnage Tool [For Mac]


First of all, you need to Download the Following as it will be required later.


Pwnage Tool 4.3 For Mac [Download link]
iOS 4.3.1 or iOS 4.3 IPSW File [Download Link]
iTunes 10.2.1 [Download Link]


Step 1: Start iTunes and sync your iPhone/iPod touch/iPad and back up all your data before proceeding with jailbreak process.


Step 2: Start PwnageTool 4.3 in “Expert mode” and select your device





Step 3: Browse for iOS 4.3.1 firmware for your device as shown in the screenshot below



Step 4: Now select “Build” to start creating custom 4.3.1 firmware file





Step 5: PwnageTool will now create the custom .ipsw file for your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch which will be  Untethered jailbroken.





Step 6: Once the IPSW is build, you will prompted to put your device in DFU mode, Pwnage tool will guide you how to put your device in DFU mode.Follow the simple steps to put your Device into DFU Mode:
• First of all,Press and Hold the sleep button for 2 seconds.
• While holding the sleepbutton,Press the Home button for 10 seconds.
• Now release the sleep button but continue Holding the home button for about 15 seconds.
Step 7: Start iTunes, click on your iOS device icon from the sidebar in iTunes. Now press and hold left “alt” (option) button on Mac, or Left “Shift” button if you are on Windows on the keyboard and then click on “Restore” (Not “Update” or “Check for Update”) button in the iTunes and then release this button.


This will make iTunes prompt you to select the location for your custom firmware 4.3.1 file. Select the required custom .ipsw file that you created above, and click on “Open”.
This will take almost 10 Minutes and your Device is Jailbroken After That Congratulations!.


How To Unlock iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4 on Older Basebands:


Dev Team will release new version of UltrasN0w in some time so you'll be able to Unlock your Device on Following Basebands 01.59.00 / 04.26.08 / 05.11.07 / 05.12.01 / 05.13.04 / 06.15.00.

Guide: How to Unlock iPhone 4 / 3GS on iOS 4.3.1 with Ultrasn0w [Guide]

Here we have posted a guide on how to Unlock after jailbreaking:





Read the Following Points before you proceed to UltraSn0w:
• This Guide works only for Baseband  (01.59.00 / 04.26.08 / 05.11.07 / 05.12.01 / 05.13.04 / 06.15.00)
• All those with (02.10.04 / 03.10.01 / 04.10.01 / 05.14.02 / 05.15.04) basebands should stay away from this guide.
• Upgrading iPhone 3GS baseband to the 06.15.00 iPad baseband hack to unlock MAY cause you to lose your GPS!
• There is NO unlock for the stock iOS 4.3.1 (latest baseband) yet. If your iPhone relies on a unlock, DO NOT update to stock iOS 4.3.1 yet.

Cydia 1.1 has been released And Available to download, Bugs Fix, Stable and New Features [Download]

Saurik has just released a new Version of Cydia that is Cydia 1.1.0. Saurik on twitter was talking about this new Cydia a long time and now finally it's been released, This new version is now available to all those users who have Jailbroken their Devices.

Cydia 1.1: Faster, Slimmer and more Stable; Including an Improved Search algorithm and "resume where you left" Available in Cydia Now!
So according to him there are now lots of new features in this New Version off Cydia. It is now more faster and also more Stable. New features in it are that it's search algorithm has been improved and multitasking which means you can resume where you left.

In Cydia 1.1, Freeman has managed to largely resolve the issue of multi-tasking with a “resume where you left off” feature which lets you quickly (I experienced less than 4 seconds wait time) get back to exactly where you were in the app, whether it be on a search page or inside a section folder.
Note: installing Cydia 1.1 removes older default packages. This is normal: repositories are managed differently, and will not be deleted.

Make sure you have iFile and Safari Download manager installed on your iDevice. Than navigate to http://apt.saurik.com/cydia/debs/cydia_1.1.0_iphoneos-arm.deb from Safari and download Cydia with Safari Download manager and install it from iFile.
