As it was previously reported that iPhone Dev team will release an updated version of Redsn0w which will be an massive update and will bring tons of new features, and finally MuscleNerd has released the new redsn0w 0.9.9b1. This new version of redsn0w is easy to use and have loads of new features, so jailbreak users won't be having an issue using this new version of Redsn0w.




Here's the complete changelog:



• uses DFU mode to try to automatically determine which device and FW you have
• fetches pieces of public IPSWs from Apple (once).  Non-public IPSWs must be provided manually (once).  It then caches those pieces for future use.
• “Just boot” is a tethered boot.  Uses whatever “Preferences” you’ve set for boot logo and kernel boot-args
• “Pwned DFU” puts your device in a pwned DFU state for some of the iTunes stuff detailed below
• “Recovery fix” gets past 1015 types of errors (when baseband portion of restore fails).  Should work on iOS5 beta too
• “Select IPSW” is for picking non-public IPSWs, or overriding auto-detection
• “SHSH blobs” has a bunch of options…
• “Fetch” – fetch current PARTIAL blobs on device.  Should complete in under 10 or 15 seconds.  Puts the set of PARTIAL of blobs on your computer as a plist.  Checks if Cydia already has a full set for this device and build.  If not, it submits this PARTIAL set and returns Cydia’s acknowledgement or rejection
• “Verify”  – cryptographically verifies existing blob files from either redsn0w, TinyUmbrella, or Cydia server.  You can select a whole bunch of blobs to verify at once if you want (like the TinyUmbrella directory)
• “Submit”  – both verifies and submits one or more blob files to Cydia.  This lets you copy your entire TinyUmbrella cache of blobs up to the Cydia server
• “Query” - queries the Cydia server for all available FULL or PARTIAL blobs for a given set of ECIDs
• “Stitch” – stitches either FULL or PARTIAL blobs to a STOCK or CUSTOM IPSW


1. FULL blobs stitched to a STOCK IPSW gives you a completely self-contained signed IPSW that iTunes will accept without any tricks (no need to go into pwned DFU mode, no need to start TinyUmbrella TSS server, no need to redirect to Cydia server for blobs)
1. PARTIAL blobs stitched to any IPSW requires you to go into pwned DFU mode before running iTunes.  No need to start TU or use Cydia though.
1. Stitching either FULL or PARTIAL blobs to a CUSTOM IPSW also requires a pwned DFU start before iTunes restores.  No need to start TU or use Cydia though.
1. Stitching is NOT yet supported on iPhones!  
Need to work out the baseband part of the restore process.
1. Will eventually support fetching the blobs directly from Cydia instead of a file on your computer

iPhone Dev Team has now finally released an updated version for Redsn0w to tethered Jailbreak iOS 5 Beta on iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad.  We've recently reported that Hackers have successfully got Jailbreak of iOS 5 Beta the day after it's release. And now the good news is that they have Patched it into the Latest redsn0w and released it for Public.



According to iPhone Dev Team:
WWDC 2011 is winding down to a close, and developers of jailbroken apps for Cydia are probably itching to get started on all the iOS 5 goodness.  It seems like a good time to release the tethered redsn0w jailbreak for iOS 5. The following devices are supported:

• iPod touch 3G
• iPod touch 4G
• iPad 1
• iPhone3GS
• iPhone4 (GSM)
• iPhone4 (CDMA)
UNLOCKERS AND THOSE PRESERVING THEIR UNLOCKABLE BASEBANDS SHOULD STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS! You will very likely lose your unlockable baseband if you try to install iOS 5.
THIS JAILBREAK IS INTENDED ONLY FOR DEVELOPERS OF JAILBROKEN APPS! There are just too many broken components (Apple’s official apps, 3rd-party App Store apps, Cydia apps, MobileSubstrate apps, etc) for this to be useful to anyone but those truly looking to fix bugs in their iOS 5 jailbroken apps.  (Seriously!)

The way redsn0w works, you will very likely be able to use this on upcoming iOS5 betas, just by continuing to point redsn0w at the 5.0b1 IPSW.  So keep that IPSW handy!

iPhone Dev Team has now released the new Redsn0w 0.9.6 RC13b to Untethered Jailbreak iOS 4.3.2 on iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad. This new Redsn0w uses the same 10n1c's Exploit which was used to Untethered Jailbreak iOS 4.3.1. And again this is to inform you that, This Redsn0w Again won't be able to Untethered Jailbreak your iPad 2, so iPad 2 users have to wait until an safe Jailbreak has been released for it.

Only a few weeks after the 4.3.1 untether created by @i0n1c was released, Apple pushed out firmware 4.3.2. Thankfully, it appears Apple didn’t have a chance to fix the hole used by @i0n1c’s untether, so he ported his code over to 4.3.2’s kernel. Today’s redsn0w has been updated to include it.

The 4.3.2 untether works on all devices that actually support 4.3.2 except for the iPad2:

iPhone3GS
iPhone4 (GSM) iPhone4 users please wait for a pending fix
iPod touch 3G
iPod touch 4G
iPad1


As always, ultrasn0w unlockers should stay away from redsn0w and only update their firmware through a custom IPSW. We’ll release a new version of PwnageTool sometime this week.

Note that many people are currently having problems updating to 4.3.2 through saurik’s server. You’ll need to remove the gs.apple.com entry in your hosts file in order to restore directly to Apple’s servers.

First of all you need to download the Following:


Redsn0w 0.9.6 RC9 for Windows [Download link]
iOS 4.3.1 or iOS 4.3 IPSW File [Download Link]
iTunes 10.2.1 [Download link]


Step 1: First of all you have to, Update and restore your iPhone firmware to iOS 4.3.1 using iTunes. Here's how to:
Open "iTunes" and select your iPhone in sidebar, Windows users press “shift” and restore and browse the  Custom Firmware.
[Or] *You can skip this step if you’re already running iOS 4.3.1/tethered jailbroken iOS 4.3.1.


Step 2: Now, Launch Redsn0w 0.9.6 RC9 and Browse for iOS 4.3.1 Fimrware IPSW File.





Step 3: Now check Cydia and click next.





Step 4: Please plug your iPhone into the computer and make sure its OFF then click the Next button.





Step 5: RedSn0w will now guide you on how to put your device in DFU mode. follow the steps carefully till your device get’s into DFU mode.Follow the simple steps to put your Device into DFU Mode:
• First of all,Press and Hold the sleep button for 2 seconds.
• While holding the sleepbutton,Press the Home button for 10 seconds.
• Now release the sleep button but continue Holding the home button for about 15 seconds. 



Step 6: One in DFU mode your iPhone will restart, Now, just wait while Redsn0w gets installed and jailbreaks your device. Once finished your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch will restart automatically.


TrobleShooting:
Any Windows users seeing “Waiting for reboot” for too long (more than 20 seconds or so), please try “shaking” the JB process by unplugging then replugging your USB cable (while letting redsn0w continue to run). Also, try using a USB port “closer” to your computer (as opposed to on your monitor or behind another hub).

DEV-Team has Updated Redsn0w to version 0.9.6b5 which will allow iPhone 3GS and iPhone 3G Users to Jailbreak their Device on iOS 4.2.1 and also Update their respective baseband to 06.15.00. Here we have a complete step by step guide on How to Jailbreak your Device, and in order to Unlock you have to Update your Baseband to 06.15. This Guide is both for MAC And Windows.If you have an old-bootrom 3GS and are already unlockable but want to get to 4.2.1, please wait til iPhone Dev Team release an “unofficial” bundle for you.





Dev-Team has updated in their Blog that:


The new redsn0w 0.9.6beta5 is out.  It gives both Windows and OSX users the ability to flash the iPad 06.15 baseband on iPhone3G or iPhone3GS.  It fetches the baseband files directly from Apple for now (the only IPSW you ever point it at is the stock IPSW for the FW on your iPhone right now).  There may be a long delay while it’s doing this (their servers are currently getting pounded).
Important Note: RedSn0w not only jailbreak your iOS 4.2.1 but it also updates the baseband 5.14.02 and 5.15 to 6.15 for iPhone 3GS and 3G so make it unlock. Now there are some key points which should be note before proceeding with this Jailbreak and unlock tool.
1. There is no way to come back down from 06.15, and there’s no hiding the baseband version from Apple. You’ll be voiding your warranty in a very obvious way.


2. If some future baseband comes out with a critical fix, you won’t be able to update to it if it remains down in the 05.xx sequence (then again, you wouldn’t update to it if you wanted to keep your unlock anyway).
3. Starting with FW 4.2.1 if you have 06.15 on your iPhone you won’t ever be able to restore to stock firmware (it will fail). You’ll need to only restore to custom IPSWs (then again, if you’re unlocker you should already be doing that).


Don’t update to 06.15 if you don’t need to! Only do this if you need the unlock and you’re stuck on 05.14 or 05.15, and you’re willing to assume the above risks.
So here is the Guide,
First of all Download the Following:
 iOS 4.2.1 Firmware for your Device [Download Link]
Redsn0w 0.9.6.b5 for Windows [Download Link]
Redsn0w 0.9.6.b5 for MAC [Download Link]


Step 1: Update and restore your iPhone firmware to iOS 4.2.1 using iTunes 10.1. Open iTunes and select your iPhone in sidebar, Windows users press “shift” and restore and browse the firmware. Mac users press “Alt/Option” and Restore and browse to iOS 4.2.1 firmware.


Step 2:Launch RedSn0w 0.9.6B5 and “Borwse” your iOS 4.2.1 Firmware.







Step 3: Now you'll be Given different options to choose from, Select “install Cydia” and “install iPad Baseband”,So iPad Baseband 06.15 will be ported to iPhone 3Gs and 3G and will make it ready for unlock. Don’t select custom boot logo and recovery logo if you don’t want to.





Step 4: Now you have to make sure that your Device is Turned Off and connected to your Computer.


Step 5:Now you have to Put your Device into DFU Mode,Just follow the Instruction shown in image and you can put your Device into DFU Mode.



Step 6: After your Device has entered to DFU Mode,your installation of custom firmware with baseband 06.15 will start.
NOTE: If you have problems with RedSn0w on Windows Vista or Windows 7. Right click the executable and set it to run as administrator in Windows XP compatibility mode.
Here you are done with Jailbreak, your Device has been Jailbroken!

How to Jailbreak iPod 2G and iPhone 3G using Redsn0w[For Windows]

Redsn0w 0.9.6b1 can now jailbreak your iPod 2G and iPhone 3G on windows,this jailbreak was already available for mac but now windows users can also use redsn0w to jailbreak.
Note: If you have used Ultrasnow to jailbreak your iPhone 3G,don’t use redsn0w for now as it will update your phone baseband to the latest version!



Download redsn0w 0.9.6 for windows.


Remember this update by the Dev Team while jailbreaking your iPhone/iPod Touch with redsn0w on Windows:

Step 2:Connect your iPod 2G or iPhone 3G to your computer and run itunes.


Step 3:After connecting,select your iPhone/iPod at the left side of iTune panel,Now hold the "Shift button" and click "Restore button".


Step 4:Now it will open browse,select the Firmware which you downloaded(.ipsw file) and click "ok".


Step 5:Once iTunes has finished updating your iPhone to the desired firmware open the folder where you extracted redns0w.zip and launch the redsn0w.exe.


Step 6:As redsnow is opened,Click the "Browse" button





Step 7:As browse opens,select the .ipsw file from your computer,and click ok.
Step 8:Now Redsn0w will ask for the following options to select from.Be sure you have selected Cydia.then click next.





Step 9:Now Connect your iPhone/iPod to the computer and be sure that it’s turned OFF.then click the next button(after connected).
redsn0w will now guide you how to put your phone to DFU mode.Follow the simple steps to put your iphone/iPod into DFU mode:
* Hold down both the Home button and the Power button for 10 seconds.
* Release the Power button and continue holding the Home button until RedSn0w detects the device.
