As you may already know that Mac App Store was set to release on 6th January and now it’s available with Mac OS X upgrade. Install the upgrade and you are good to go with Mac App Store. You can update your Mac OS X either via using the Mac’s built-in Software Update or via a download from Apple’s Website. Once Mac OS X 10.6.6 is installed, users will find a new App Store app in the Dock, right next to the Finder.
The Store will launch with over 1,000 apps, including Apple standards like the iLife suite broken out into separate parts (iPhoto, iMovie, GarageBand).
Entirely new apps, as well as current Mac favorites, are available from developers such as Autodesk, Ancestry.com and Boinx. iPhoto®, iMovie® and GarageBand® apps from Apple’s popular iLife® ‘11 suite are available individually in the Mac App Store for $14.99 each, and Pages®, Keynote® and Numbers® apps from iWork® are available for $19.99 each. Aperture® 3, Apple’s powerful photo editing and management software, is available for $79.99.
To get the Mac App Store, download the Mac OS X v10.6.6 Software Update or visit www.apple.com/mac/app-store.
