Guide: How to get the new Facebook Timeline Profile [easy steps]

So today at F8 Conference facebook revealed something really awesome, they unveiled new features of Facebook which will totally changed the looks of Facebook and transform it into something new. So if you didn't missed the event you would know Facebook revealed the new Timeline Profile which totally change the layout of your profile. It's available for Developers only, as it is not available right now for users so Techcrunh got some time to write a detailed guide on How to get Facebook Timeline Feature in just simple steps. See those simple steps below, perform them correctly and get the new Timeline Profile:





Important note:
- You probably don’t want to do this unless you’re actually a developer. Expect bugs.
- Only you will see your timeline at first (unless you decide otherwise), but your timeline will take over your homepage after a few days. My timeline was automatically hard-set to go public on September 29th.
- It seems that if you login into Facebook on another machine, Timeline gets disabled automatically on all of your machines. With that said, it seems you can get back to your timeline (but ONLY after following the steps below) by navigating to http://www.facebook.com/YOURUSERNAMEHERE?sk=timeline
- You’ll need to have a “verified” account for one of the steps, which means you need a credit card or phone number attached to the account.
Here’s how to Activate And Enable Facebook Timeline Right Now:

• Log into Facebook
• Enable developer mode, if you haven’t already. To do this, type “developer” into the search box, click the first result (it should be an app made by Facebook with a few hundred thousand users), and add the app.
• Jump into the developer app (if Facebook doesn’t put you there automatically, it should be in your left-hand tool bar)
• Create a new app (don’t worry — you wont actually be submitting this for anyone else to see/use). Give your shiny new app any display name and namespace you see fit. Read through and agree to the Platform Privacy agreement. This is the step you need to be verified for.
• Ensure you’re in your new app’s main settings screen. You should see your app’s name near the top of the page
• Look for the “Open Graph” header, and click the “Get Started using open graph” link.
• Create a test action for your app, like “read” a “book”, or “eat” a “sandwich”
• This should drop you into an action type configuration page. Change a few of the default settings (I changed the past tense of “read” to “redd” — again, only you can see this unless you try and submit your application to the public directory), and click through all three pages of settings
• Wait 2-3 minutes
• Go back to your Facebook homescreen. An invite to try Timeline should be waiting at the top of the page

Facebook updates their 'Status' UI with new Features [Beta]

I've just noticed this new update in facebook, they have just updated the way you share your status they have added two new features i.e the location where you're at while updating the status and the friend with whom you're with. So this new features look in Beta right now as it's not working properly for me. and another negative thing I found in this is that you can't share links with this.

16 Years old teenager Arrested in Glasgow for trying to Provoke Riots using Facebook

It's recently been reported that there have been some riots going on in UK, due to which there's some instability around UK and it have done some great damage, most of the stores around UK are looted or destroyed. 
So for that same reason, an 16 year old teenager has been arrested in Glasgow, which was attempting to start a riot following similar riots across London, Birmingham and Bristol over the last 48-hours. This guys is now in custody with the Strathclyde Police.





Basically, this guy created an Facebook Page named as ‘Let’s start a riot in Glasgow’, and in reaction to that calls were made for the Facebook page, ‘Let’s start a riot in Glasgow’, to be closed by the social media site, and most of them also reported this page. And Facebook has at least now taken the page down.



As Strathclyde Police got this news they took their step and arrested this guy. Strathclyde Police has said that at the time of writing there was ‘no intelligence’ to suggest that there was any trouble planned in the city.


According to the Police:

"Let there be no mistake, we are ready for any eventuality and will take any action necessary to prevent this kind of abhorrent behaviour. The action we took today should act as a strong warning to anyone who is thinking of causing trouble here."

Facebook Planning to Launch "Something Awesome" Next Week [Report]

CEO of the biggest Social Network called the Facebook has told some reporters of Reuters that the company has planned to Launch "Something Awesome" this week. Google Broke the Highest Traffic Record, Reaching 1 billion unique visitors per month [Report]

It's been recorded for the first time that any site have reached this much of traffic. And Google have gained this achievement reaching One Billion Unique Visitors on the month of May. This statistics data has been collected by ComScore. According to their report, and to be more Precise, Google's sites traffic rose by 8.4 percent from 931 million a year ago to just over a billion--1,009,699,000.





Google’s unique visitors per month have increased 8.4% to just over one billion. During the same period, Microsoft maintained the No. 2 position with 905 million unique visitors in May, up around 15%, while Facebook’s count surged by 30% to about 714 million visitors. In May, Yahoo saw 689 million visitors, up 10.8% over the past year, though it was surpassed by Facebook in October.


It's been believed that Google's Search Engine and Gmail Services has got more market share than before, and also and the company bought video site YouTube, among other moves that led to its rise.


But the Interesting part is, Google has achieved more traffic than Mircrosoft or Facebook. But the Site on which users spends more time is still facebook. Users spend 250 billion minutes in May on facebook, compared with 200 billion minutes at Google and 204 billion at Microsoft.


So this means Google has remained successful in gaining this much of traffic, but the report reveals that users love to spend time on Facebook not Google.

The message is that Google can help you connect with your family in a way that is far superior to old-fashioned paper letters (and that it is certainly much more relevant to young people). The meaning is that Google wants access to your emails, photos, videos and memories, because then it can advertise to you via those services and keep you on its websites. If this seems like a chilling vision of the future, it's worth reflecting that Facebook already does this right now.
The battle between Facebook and Google is about who has control of our lives online. And for those who have never lived in a world without the Internet, there's no distinction between online and offline.

Microsoft Bing goes social with Facebook data!

In its latest move to gain further market share in internet search, Microsoft Corp. (MSFT) has rolled out social search features in its Bing search engine. The social data is sourced from Facebook, the world's largest and most popular social network, and includes links friends have recommended.


Bing users who are searching for a news story, a movie or a hotel are able to see if their friends have 'liked' it on Facebook.


Microsoft research found that 90% of people surveyed seek advice from friends and family before making a decision. By enhancing Bing search results with Facebook connections, the software company is hoping to leverage such relationships to deliver more relevant search answers.


The additional features were announced on the official Bing blog on Monday. Yusuf Mehdi, Corporate Vice President, Bing & MSN at Microsoft, commented: "Today, Bing is bringing the collective IQ of the Web together with the opinions of the people you trust most, to bring the “Friend Effect” to search".


Since launching Bing in June 2009, Microsoft has built the product into a credible alternative to Google. Combined with traffic from a search agreement with Yahoo!, Bing now carries about 30% of searches in the US, according to ComScore.

Reuters has recently reported, That Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg is in talk with Skype to either Buy the Company or to form a Joint Venture. Other than that It's not Just facebook who want to Acquire Skype. Google has also started some discussion about forming Joint Venture with Skype.
