Right now the telecommunication job market is good.Good in a sense that all the operators swapping their BTS equipments from 2.5 G to 3G.For this reason they have out sourced the total work into the subcoms.The subcom like UCE,Tarus International,Metro Tel,Ring Tech etc. they are doing a huge swapping work for all the operators.Also they have got the drive test benchmarking project of all the operators.Some small companies like Nextivity and others are also doing the same drive test with different drive test equipment named SwissQual.Where the other companies are doing the drive test with Ericsson's TEMS.
Recently Nextivity have done drive test for ROBI for some regions like Comilla,Chadpur etc.They are also trying to sell the equipment SwissQual to Grameen Phone and in some extent they have convinced Grameen Phone.Some days ago there was also a meeting with the CTO of Nextivity and CTO of Airtel Bangladesh.But no fruitful conclusion came out of that.
Above describes the job opportunities in the subcoms but if you look into the operator side,they are not recruiting hugely though their work is huge in these days.Now they are not concentrating on the technical side rather they are interested about the marketing.They have transferred all the responsibilities to the vendors and vendors are doing all the installation and operators are sharing revenue with them.
Vendor companies are also outsourcing the total work to the subcoms.So,ultimately there is huge work but the good opportunity is less.Cause the subcom is only paying 10,000 BDT(around 150 USD) to a B. Sc Engineer and employing them.
Also there are two WiMax providers but they are not recruiting too many technical people in the job rather they are interested in marketing people.The engineers are also not doing the core technical jobs.

So,the conclusion is that though there is huge job opportunity in the field of Telecommunication in Bangladesh the payment is very low.
