    There have been already so much discussion about using an PS3 Controller with Xoom tablet on Android Forums. And also loads of Videos has also been released showing PS3 Controller working with Xoom. Now here we have brought the Guide for you, so you can also try this with your Xoom Tablet. There is no rooting required to it, A simple OTG cable can be used to connect and use PS3 controller with Motorola Xoom on 3.1 Honeycomb.



    Just Follow the Simple steps below:

    Requirements:

    1. An OTG cable (look up on eBay e.g here)

    2. Compatible games / emulators
    e.g Cordy (Available in Android Market)
    Emulators :  Nintendo Emulator (Nesoid), Super Nintendo (Snes9X), Playstation 1(FPSE), Atari( Ataroid ) and more

    3. Android 3.1 Update for your Xoom Tablet
    When you get the cable and all the emulators mentioned above. Then simply plug the OTG cable with PS3 controller in your Motorola Xoom running Honeycomb 3.1.

Motorola Xoom Overclocked to 1.6 GHz

    Recently, We have reported that after a week When the Xoom Tablet was released in US. That some Developers gave it a try and Successfully Overclocked the Xoom Tablet to 1.5 GHz.w e also wrote a guide on how to do it. And now once again, they Successfully overclocked it to 1.6 GHz. It has been done by the new Kernel Version of Tiamat 1.4.2. So after this Overclocking of 1.6 GHz, Motorola Xoom earned over over 4000 points in the benchmark app, Quadrant. While an normal Stock Version Xoom scored only 1500 Points.

    So this Definitely means, If you choose to Overclock your Xoom, You'll face battery Shortage Problem. because high Processor means double Battery Consumption. There are also many users reporting that, This new Overclocking kills the tablets battery live. And Of Course, 1.6 Ghz is so fast.

    There's a Very Good news for Those Motorola Xoom users, That they'll be the First ever Android Users to Experience the New Android 3.1. As announced in the Google I/O event, Android 3.1 For Only Motorola Xoom will start rolling out today. This new Android 3.1 has loads of new features including improved multitasking, resizable widgets, and the ability for a device to act as a USB host (Allows you to import photos directly to your Android device).
    Right Now, Android 3.1 will be only Available for Xoom tablet, But soon it will be available for Google Tv Devices this Summer.


    Other Than that Google Also Announced some Major Improvements in Android.  The new upcomming Android Icecream Sandwich will feature loads of new things in Android Cellphones.

Tablet Camera Comparison: iPad 2 vs Xoom, Galaxy Tab

    Apple iPad 2 have got some really great specification but it didn't filled the needs of it's users because of it's camera. iPad 2 is released a long time after iPhone 4 and people were expecting that it would have better or equal quality camera like iPhone 4 but it isn't like that. That's why macworld has made a detailed comparison between some of the tablets with the iPad 2. Including Xoom and Galaxy Tab. The result they got were very amazing,You can see them down below.


    In this test they have also included the Canon PowerShot S95, iPhone 4 and iPod Touch 4G cameras aswell.

    Still Image Quality test:


    Scores:
    1. Canon PowerShot S95 (85.6, Very Good)
    2. Apple iPhone 4 (66.2, Fair)
    3. Motorola Xoom (64.8, Fair)
    4. Samsung Galaxy Tab (63.6, Fair)
    5. Apple iPod touch (58, Poor)
    6. Apple iPad 2 (57.8, Poor)

    As you can see the results, iPad 2 has really gone Underwhelming, it scored a Poor against Xoom and Galaxy Tab. This result wasn't enough for them, so they further examined!

    Exposure Quality and Color Accuracy test:
    iPad 2 did a lttle good in the color accuracy test, but again it failed in the Exposure quality. 

     
    Sharpness and Distortion test:


    Video Quality test:
    In video quality test, iPad 2 did farely well, placed on 4th number but still behind Xoom.

    1. Canon PowerShot S95 (73.2, Good)
    2. Apple iPhone 4 (71.6, Good)
    3. Motorola Xoom (64.4, Fair)
    4. Apple iPad 2 (60.6, Fair)
    5. Cisco Flip Video UltraHD (60.4, Fair)
    6. Apple iPod touch (58.8, Poor)
    7. Samsung Galaxy Tab (58.0, Poor)


    So these test have clearly revealed that iPhone 4 camera is uncomparable. iPhone 4 have the best camera among iOS devices.

OverClock Motorola Xoom to 1.5 GHz [How To]

    Once again an XDA Member coolbho3000 successfully overclocked the Motorola Xooom Tablet to 1.5 GHz, later today another XDA Member overclocked the Xoom to tablet to 1.2 GHz and now coolbho3000 succeeded in overclocking the Xoom Tablet, this means Xoom will be having 50% more speed than it’s default 1GHz.. By the way It’s the First Dual Core Honeycomb Tablet that got a root treatment and get’s overclocked to 1.5GHz.


    Before you Proceed:
    NOTE: As always, we don’t recommend you try modifying your device as it will invalidate your warranty and could brick your device.
    Instructions:
    1. Make sure you’ve unlocked your Xoom’s bootloader for flashing first, then root it.
    2. Grab this zip and extract it. It includes a boot.img with the overclocked kernel and a corresponding wifi module: http://www.setcpu.com/files/xoom_ocboot.zip. Thanks to Koush for the rooted ramdisk in this boot.img!
    3. Reboot into the bootloader by running:
    adb reboot bootloader
    4. Flash the boot image to your boot partition by running:
    fastboot flash boot xoom_ocboot.img
    5. Push the bcm4329.ko to your /system/lib/modules folder and reboot to re-enable wifi:
    adb remount
    adb push bcm4329.ko /system/lib/modules/bcm4329.ko
    adb reboot

Guide: How to Unlock Motorola Xoom Bootloader [Get Access to the Root]

    Motorola Xoom is right now available in the BestBuy, it was released a week ago.This new Tablet is featuring Android's Honeycomb Operating System. It has got so many new features as compared to iPad or other Tablets. The Good news is that an XDA Member has now successfully Unlocked this tablet, so this simply means with this Unlock you can get access to Flash Custom ROM or Root of the device. We have posted a guide below that will help you to get access to the root of this Tablet.


    Guide: How to Unlock Motorola Xoom BootLoader:

    Read the Following before you Proceed:
    The following procedure will VOID your warranty but will easily unlock the Xoom for fast software flashes using a custom recovery and will allow flashing root files or manipulated system files on to your current software installation.. Proceed at your own risk. technobolt.com is not liable responsible if your device gets bricked or damaged during the process.

    PREREQUISITES

    *Note* – This uses adb.  If you are into hacking on your Android devices at all, it’s time you learn at least some basic commands.  Not everything in this world is a 1-click breeze.

    Get the newest Android SDK and install it.

    Motorola Drivers should be installed on your computer. Make sure you download the drivers according to your computer OS type.


    Steps to take:

    Step 1: First of all Poweroff your Motorola Xoom Tablet.

    Step 2: Press and hold the Volume Down button while pressing the Power button until the device boots into fastboot mode.

    Step 3:  Now connect your Xoom to computer via USB connection.

    Step 4:  On your computer, launch “Command Prompt” and type the following:
    fastboot oem unlock
    Step 5: After you've read the Warning Message on your Tablet Screen, Press the VolumeUp Button if you wish to proceed.

    You Tablet has successfully been Unlocked!
